I really like the Xtrema skillet. I?ve been using it regularly and it works really well, so I was excited to try the teapot. It starts to boil in just a few minutes, which is due to the nature of the ceramic. The problem is, regardless of the amount of water you put into the teapot, it boils over. The teapot does not whistle, so you really have to watch the water boil which isn?t too fun.
The remaining water in the pot stays hot after you pour your cup for tea, well if it hasn?t boiled over.
I am still using the teapot, but I know how it works, so be warned. The company’s website is finally live with links to their retailers both online and in-store.
We will also be reviewing a pot from Ceramcor in the near future, so check back soon.
Thanks for the review of my product and we have not experienced the water boiling over like you mentioned. This might be happening because the water level in the pot is too high. Just fill the water level up to the bottom of the neck of the pot. The only way to make a tea pot whistle is to have a metal spout and we will not use metal because we want our pot to be environmentally friendly and non toxic too. Remember, if you should happen to boil our pot try there will be no damage like there is with metal tea pots. The number one reason why people buy new metal tea pots is because their original metal tea pot with a whistle was damaged when it was boiled dry. This information was told to us by over 120 tea shop owners. Our Xtrema tea pot can withstand temperatures of 2500F so it can not be damaged if left on the stove and boiled dry.
Untrue….my Xtrema teapot exploded yesterday. It had boiled dry….(no whistle is a really big flaw on this teapot). So glad no one was inthe kitchem whne it exloded.
