Tea’s Tea has 5 flavors of their Half & Half variety Green Tea plus. I had the chance to try the Half & Half Green Tea with Green Apple and Green Tea with Lemonade. These teas contain powerful antioxidants (catechins/EGCG) for a healthy heart. As well as a great bottle packaging, on each bottle they have a haiku submitted by people around the word, which was a pleasant surprise.
The green tea with green apple won the second award for the North American Tea Champion for 2012 and it is the only Tea’s Tea that has won this award. It smells just like a freshly cut green apple, unfortunately it tastes like chemicals. It may be because it’s made with apple juice concentrate with only 3% actual juice in one bottle. The apple flavor seemed more overpowering and I didn’t really taste the green tea as much, though I expected to taste the green tea more, since it is advertised as tea. I would prefer it as green tea with a hint of green apple, not the other way around. It may be worth trying if you enjoy green apple beverages.
Green tea with lemonade was much more of the flavor I expect when enjoying flavored tea. It had a light citrus taste even though it contained less juice than the green apple; at 1% juice. This tea left a dry after taste, which made me feel like I needed to quench my thirst even more. It did have less of a chemical taste than the green apple, however overall Tea’s Tea has not been my favorite bottled tea.
It’s nice to try but I wouldn’t have it again. See for yourself, these teas can be found at your local Whole Foods in their uniquely square bottles.
