The Orbee Tuff Mazee by Planet Dog is a fun ball! It is large so my dogs have a hard time picking it up, they usually carry it by the hole at the top where you sneak the treats into. The ball also has a smooth rubber feel, but hair gets stuck to it so I rinse it off with water and let it dry.
My golden retriever gave up on it very early on. She did not care that there was a treat inside. She hears it rolling around and stares at it but doesn’t dive in for it. However, my border collie will carry it around and tries gnawing on it. I do know that they are supposed to be rolling it around, but she seems to like chewing on it to get to the treats. Every so often she will pick it up and let it go. I think she is waiting for the treat to roll out. She will give up after 10 minutes or so and then go back to it another day. It still has the original treat inside and I know it bothers her but she cannot get it out, I also could not get the treat out.
I think the only thing I do not like about this toy is that everything gets stuck to it and that the material is thin. I think it is a neat idea but maybe needs to be a little sturdier. The toy is intended for puzzle-play, not chewing, so it is not rated on their Chew-o-meter scale. It is also non-toxic, recyclable and 100% guaranteed.
Both my dogs loved the treats that came with this toy, Planet Dog eats – PB & J. They gobbled them up, the treats are 100% natural and made with wild Maine blueberries. They are also wheat, corn and soy free with no wheat gluten. They could smell them when I first opened the box and whenever I hold that box up, they run to me. The treats are also the perfect size, not to small but just enough. I love these treats I would buy them.
