I received this bag at a good time. I was about to take a trip to Baltimore, MD and Washington DC. All I wanted to bring with me was a few lenses, one camera body and a tripod. All of the camera lenses and the camera body are pro equipment so they are bigger and heavier than your average consumer digital camera. Is the Tour FX meant to handle that much weight? I wasn’t sure but I gave it a try.
Walking about DC for 7 hours with the bag was a bad idea. It was heavy on the backside and the shoulder strap actually hurt. The padding is minimal and worthless. The only nice thing about that strap is it slides with the bag and does take some of the pressure off the back.
The quality of the bag is incredible. It’s made from ReDura PET which is 100% recycled and very strong. The bag has weather seals for the strong zippers and a built in rain cover. There are straps underneath which could be used for a sleeping bag but I had my tripod there and it worked very well.
Overall the bag isn’t so bad. If I went with a smaller SLR camera I would most likely be ok carrying it for 7 hours but with all of the pro equipment it was a nightmare.
