Mineral Fusion Cosmetics

Overall Review

Mineral Fusion is a cosmetic company with a commitment to the environment. Their philosophy is to create eco-friendly products, using sustainable technologies that will not deplete our planet of its remaining resources. Not only are they using natural ingredients in their makeup, the paper for all mineral fusion boxes are made using certified renewable energy. And for those who are animal conscious, mineral fusion does not test its products on animals.

Blotting Tissues

blotting paperFor someone who has a very oily skin like myself, Mineral Fusion’s Blotting Tissues are a must. These little gems blotted away the excess oil of the day without taking off my foundation, leaving me feeling fresh and shine free. They have become a solid staple in my handbag and I use them regularly. They are fantastic for a night on the town; on your trip to the bathroom to touch up your makeup use one of these with great results. The papers are made with abaca leaf and soft wood pulp and are compact enough to fit easily in your purse or pocket.

Lip Gloss

Overall I was pretty impressed by Mineral Fusion’s Lip Gloss. The gloss was lovely and creamy without having that awful sticky texture as some other gloss’s do. The color ‘dazzle’ was soft and sophisticated, as are all their colors in their lip gloss range. It was shiny without being glittery and full of antioxidants. Mineral Fusions Lip Gloss would appeal to all age groups.

Pressed Powder

Mineral Fusion’s Pressed Powder’s quick application made it a real time saver, in less than 5 minutes I was able to apply it with great results. It did not clog my pores and didn’t make me break out. It lasted the reasonable part of the day with only a minor touch up for when heading out for the evening. When applied it was light and soft and I like the way it made my skin feel. I also didn’t seem to be as oily during the day. Although it had great coverage I still needed to use concealer for some areas. The color matched my skin tone perfectly which rarely happens with me so I was very pleased, the great thing about the colors is that you have more than one option for cool, neutral, deep, olive and warm skin tones making it easy to find the pressed powder that’s right for you. Its free of parabens, chemical dyes and perfumes, and is created with natural preservatives. And to top it all of Mineral Fusion’s Mineral Makeup provides natural, broad-spectrum UV protection.

Loose Base

Mineral Fusion’s Loose Base was good in concept but delivery seemed to miss the mark. The applicator either applied too little powder or when you pressed harder it applied too much. The mirror attached to the lid is again great in theory but realistically its too small to be of any real benefit. In saying this, the powder itself was great. When applied with a brush it gave the same lovely results as the pressed powder.

Sheer Tint Base

Mineral Fusion’s Sheer Tint Base is ideal for those who already has good skin. Use this light sheer coverage to give you that lil something to make you feel more polished. For me, I need more coverage from my foundation than what this sheer tint offers, however I used it in combination pressed powder with good results. The only thing with this, is that you’re then paying for two products rather than just the one.

Blush

Mineral Fusion’s Blush was lovely; it applied well and seems to maintain its integrity during the day. Only a minor touchup required continuing into the evening for a night out. It felt great on the skin, non cakey and comes in a range of beautiful colors. Filled with antioxidants, the Blush works great on its own or in combination with Mineral Fusion’s powder bases.
