Yes, this is the same stuff that Tequila is made from. Melissa’s low glycemic organic blue weber agave comes from the cactus-like plant only found in Mexico. The syrup is 40% sweeter than sugar, yet it has a much lower glycemic count.
The syrup is light and not sticky. A little goes a long way. For the past few weeks, I’ve used the syrup on top of freshly cut fruit in the morning for breakfast or for dessert. It probably tastes good with homemade granola or in your tea.
You will not gain any other benefits, nutrionally speaking, from agave, but it’s another alternative to sugar.
in the near future we will be coming out with Melissa's Blue Weber Agave Syrup in the following flavors: Maple, Blueberry and original. All taste great created to replace other substitutes for Pancakes, French Toast, Blintzes and desserts. When the flavors come out compair for yourself. Do a taste test with the other sugar substitutes syrups that are on the market.
