Kinnikinnick Foods Pumpkin Spice Gluten Free Donut/Baignets

Gluten free choices are popping up everywhere as gluten intolerance becomes more prevalent in the US, creating the need for tastier, more enjoyable GF (gluten free products)!

Kinnikinnick Foods Inc., a popular GF company has done just that when they introduced for a limited time only, their Pumpkin Spice Donut/Beignets.

Finally an excuse to eat donuts for breakfast!  These tasty autumn treats, with just the right amount of sweetness, have a light glaze and are absolutely perfect for dunking in coffee!

The hint of pumpkin spice flavor was mild which I liked because it wasn’t overpowering.  The donuts are fairly small but very satisfying due to their dense, heavier texture.  One donut has 220 calories and 18g of sugar, which isn’t terrible for a great tasting donut!   My eight year old son wasn’t crazy about them, but my three year nephew asked for more!

The beignets (French for fried dough) come in a package of six and are just as good when frozen and eaten later (if they last that long)!  The plastic container that they came in was made of an extremely thin plastic material which seemed to be biodegradable, or at the least, much easier on the landfill!

Eating gluten free is a healthy alternative for everyone!  Celiac or not, I would choose these over conventional brands of donuts because they satisfy a sweet craving, while still making a nutritious choice minus the stomach ache…that goes for everyone, not just the intolerant!

I agree with the company’s slogan that “gluten free has never tasted so good”.  This product is also nut free and dairy free for those with other allergies.
