Finding good puppy food is a pretty hard thing to do. It’s not like you can switch it up whenever you feel like it. I have a couple ways I like to judge the quality of the food. Tops, though this might sound gross, is the firmness of the dog’s stool. I also keep an eye on how she reacts to it. Really, some dogs just don’t like certain brands. My dog is actually quite picky.
So, it came as quite a pleasant surprise when my pup loved the Holistic Select brand. She sampled the Small & Mini Breed type, Anchovy, Sardine and Chicken meal recipe. She could not get enough of the food, which is great because reading up on the brand, found out it’s full of natural stuff, like enzymes, probiotics, live micro-organisms and antioxidants. They start with the simple stuff that puppies need, premium proteins, fat and calories.
Just like the ingredients we’re looking for to optimize our health, these ingredients help achieve a higher level of health for pets. Holistic foods help prevent health problems in pets before they start and don’t contain any animal by-products. They have a really great holistic philosphy, which really shows in the quality of the food.
