Green Christmas: How to Have a Joyous, Eco-Friendly Holiday Season
The paperback Green Christmas was written for people to learn about what they can do to green their holiday season. It?s rather short and to the point, but it is mostly common sense. I guess this book can be considered an introduction to green. A few tips were noteworthy and I highlighted them but some of the information was just plain and prudent. The book says to use newspapers to wrap gifts and to use a real tree not a plastic one for example.
If you want to learn more about what you can do to green your holiday season, then Green Christmas is for you. Buy it wherever books are sold or you can order online from Amazon.
Thank you for posting about this book, and reminding people that simple actions can help a lot the environment. One of the most effective actions to have a green holiday, and actually live a greener life, though, is to go vegetarian, or vegan. Animal agriculture generates 18% of greenhouse gas, more than all transportation vehicles combined. For every 1/4 pound of beef produced, approximately 67 square feet of rainforest is cut down. And you save more water by not eating a pound of beef than you do by not showering for an entire year.
You can read online some chapters related to factory farming and climate change, as well as detailing practical and easy solutions that individuals, businesses and organizations can implement, on the website of the book 'Building an Ark: 101 Solutions to Animal Suffering', by Ethan Smith with Guy Dauncey, forward by Jane Goodall, PhD, DBE, at: http://www.earthfuture.com/ark
