Ecominders are little stickers that remind you to unplug something, shorten water time, or use something wisely with the goal of helping you to remember to be more eco friendly. You get about 24 stickers for $6. The idea is a good one but for me, it’s not worth it. If I put a post it on my wall to remind me to do something after awhile I don’t see it anymore.
The same was true for me with the Ecominders. It’s a great idea but I wonder about the waste that it’s creating with the packaging compared to the good that it’s doing. Sure they are cute and have pictures of little worlds on them. If you think that these reminders would be helpful to you check them out. Otherwise, there’s no reason you can’t create them yourself by using labels from any office store.
Ecominders are printed by a local printer in Chicago who is one of the most eco-friendly printers in the country, using recycled materials and paper, green printing methods and inks. They are also completely reusable so they never need to be thrown away. They do not compromise the integrity or condition of anything they are placed on – from light switches to outlets or walls – and they are suited to their age group and environment. Like the kids stickers which intend to get more kids involved in making green choices and actions to help the environment by making the stickers fun and colorful.
