Car Planet advertises their products as earth friendly car wash products. That is all good and well but compared to other eco car wash products out there this one still needs a hose and bucket, however they do not advertise as a waterless car wash system. The car wash, like the rest of the Car Planet products has no chemical smell at all and although the car wash cleaned my car very well I still prefer Eco Touch for my eco car washing needs.
The Glass cleaner cleaned tree sap off my windshield perfectly and brought out the reflections of my bug-splattered glass. After I cleaned and dried the windows I sprayed the rain repellent on the windshield. An hour after cleaning the windows I went to take a drive and found that my windows had a slight haze to them.
Two days after applying repellent spray it rained, sadly the rain did not repel at all. I was expecting a beading or something similar to what Rainx does. Nothing happened.
The wheel cleaner did raise the grime from the wheel so a brush would clean them. The tire shine did bring back some shine to the rubber and the all-purpose cleaner did clean the dashboard surface.
I tried the window cleaner and rain repellent again and it sadly, it did the same thing.
I actually like the CP line of products more than Eco touch which i find doesn't work well on really dirty vehicles. I am a huge fan of the wheel cleaner and the all-purpose cleaner (i have been using all over the place) since it is non-toxic. As far as the repellant goes, at first, i also had problems with it, but i have found that two things are essential for avoiding that "haze" you mentioned. First, you have to make sure that your windows are spotless, and second, you really must be sure you apply it in the shade when the glass is cool. Hope this helps
We actually have not used the Rain Repellent in our shop, but we have used all the other products. I have found that they actually back up their claim that they are effective. That is what we look for when detailing, effectiveness. My company caters to a lot of people that want eco friendly products because their kids are in the cars after we clean them. I certainly like what I have seen so far and I hope they come out with some more products. BTW, the All Purpose cleaner is really great, I use it in my house. I have 2 kids myself.
