The Simple Kitchen?s Lemon and Mint Sparkling Organic Beverage
The Simple Kitchen, a NYC company, was founded with the idea that organic and healthy beverages can exist. The Lemon and Mint Sparkling Organic Beverage is consistent with this notion.
This beverage was not great. In fact, it was almost not worth finishing, but for the good of the review, I had to struggle to get past the puzzling taste.
The 100% organic ingredients contain lemon juice, honey and peppermint extract, however, it is definitely missing something. I do not like to speculate on what because I am not an expert. Aside from the peculiar taste, it only has 60 calories, so it is pretty healthy alternative to other beverages.
The Simple Kitchen is an eco-friendly company who uses a green printing company, biodegradable materials for their packaging and when their caf? opens at 361 West 17th Street in NYC, reclaimed wood will be used there.
I too tried the Lemon-Mint beverage, and while Mike said it was not great, I would go as far as saying it was not good at all. It tasted like a curious mix between a Luden's Lemon cough drop and air freshener. Sure, it may be low in calories and be organically produced, but those things become moot when a product is as unappetizing as this one.
i have to agree somewhat. the puzzling taste is due to an oversaturation of honey flavor, which is what i feel i was tasting more than lime or mint as the name would imply. also, for a sparkling beverage, i was expecting a bit more carbonation.
i will say this, i can see this being a good mixer for coctails. something about the flavors reminded me of drinks i've tasted before.
I think you two have been taste-testing too many highly sugered drinks!! The fresh and crisp taste of the the bev is what makes it so perfect. I love it with lunch sandwiches and snacks. The 'lemon and mint' bev doesn't leave you with a sugar aftertaste either. C'mon boys where's your lighter side-maybe you need a break to re-discover what a good bev really is!!
Actually, CC, we do not get a check from Izze, nor do I have an Izze shirt. Everyone's taste buds are different. If you go back into the archives, you'll find some other products that we did not care for.
Also, if The Simple Kitchen sent me a shirt, I would wear it. I don't discriminate, just merely state my opinion and I encourage others to do the same.
I have had plenty of low sugar beverages that appealed to me, a drink def doesn't need to have sugar to taste good. Though unless I am in the mood sparkling water, I would probably not choose a Simple Kitchen drink.
It's a matter of taste as Mike says. Unfortunately, we do not fit into the market audience Simple Kitchen's attempting to please.
