Eco-Friendly fish? These were the first few words in my thoughts after hearing about the Barramundi. On the Better Fish website, under the sustainability section, they have a great read for anyone that is interested in learning more about how Barramundi is the sustainable, eco-friendly fish.
First things first, I have to admit that I’m not a big fish eater. I have only eaten two types of fish my whole life that I really enjoyed, Salmon and Tilapia. No joke. I have no idea why I decided to try out Barramundi but I did and now I found my new favorite fish! Barramundi is much more healthier, rich in Omega-3s, than the fish I’ve been eating and plus my conscience is clear.
My biggest obstacle with not buying fish is not knowing how to cook fish. So I was so grateful for the recipe section on The Better Fish website. I tried the “Barramundi and Lemon Butter” recipe under the Quick and Easy Recipe tab. The lemon butter taste with my pan-fried Barramundi fish was a hit! Mind you, this is a person who has cooked fish perhaps four times in my life! I cooked it for dinner and my husband, who is one of the pickiest eaters I have met, loved it!
The Barramundi fish is so rich in flavor, soft and doesn’t come with bones. I hate eating fish with the bones. It’s the worse feeling ever having to eat thinking that you might bite into something hard. Even when they remove it some fish always have some pieces left behind, but not this one!
I loved how this fish cooked; it was super easy! I actually enjoyed the taste, wasn’t that harsh fish taste or dirt taste, as I like to call it. My husband said the fish itself tended to have some type of coconut taste. This fish is definitely going to be my #1 go to now! I have no complaints just compliments.
