Few things make me happier than laying around my house on a Sunday while watching football and eating snack foods. My wife does not love football, but bless her heart she will not hesitate to make snacks for me to eat. One of her favorite things to make as a football snack has to be hummus paired with some cut up pita bread.
This past Sunday was different though, small substitution, we went with the Wild Garden? Sun Dried Tomato Hummus Dip. We complemented it with the Wild Garden? Roasted Garlic Baked Pita Chips. I?ve had pita chips before, and I usually find it?s a bag of broken pieces of baked full size pitas, most of the pieces too small to really get any kind of hummus or other fun dips on. So I was happy to find when I opened the bag of mini sized full pitas, not broken little pieces. They were crunchy, not too salty, and had the right amount of garlic taste as not to over power any dips or toppings you would choose to pair them with. Now thoroughly psyched, I moved onto the hummus.
Hummus is a tough one; the texture needs to be right. I?ve had some watery hummus from the store, and it really does not make my day. The texture of this was good, along with great taste with a little bite to it. The combination was quite tasty, leading me to eat it all up until I was so full I couldn?t enjoy a lot of the other snacks that day.
This is an all natural, vegetarian treat I would recommend for all occasions, especially as a football snack on Sunday?
